It does not select or interpret the requirement for the organization.

Calculate Net Instructional and Earned Minutes
Each Session Log row calculates Gross Minutes from the entered start and end times. Break Minutes and Excluded Minutes are subtracted to calculate Net Instructional Minutes, with a minimum result of zero. A session contributes Earned Minutes only when its status is Completed. Sessions marked Canceled contribute no completed or projected minutes.
Project Seat Time From Future Scheduled Sessions
The Dashboard separates completed instructional time from upcoming scheduled time. Upcoming Scheduled Minutes include Net Instructional Minutes from sessions marked Scheduled when the session date is on or after the As of Date. Completed Minutes plus Upcoming Scheduled Minutes produces the Projected Total Minutes, allowing the status calculation to distinguish courses that have already met the requirement from those projected to meet it.

Identify Shortfalls and Data Issues
Each active course receives one of six statuses. Met means completed minutes equal or exceed the requirement. Projected to Meet means completed and eligible scheduled minutes together reach the requirement. Near Target indicates a positive projected shortfall within the applicable warning margin, while Shortfall means the gap is larger than that margin. Not Started means no completed or future scheduled minutes are recorded. Data Issue indicates that the course setup or at least one linked session record requires review.
Common questions
About this template
No. The user must enter the instructional-minute requirement that applies to each course or section. The workbook compares completed and scheduled minutes with that entered requirement, but it does not determine or interpret legal, regulatory, accreditation, or organizational requirements.
Sessions marked Completed contribute their Net Instructional Minutes as Earned Minutes. Sessions marked Scheduled contribute to Upcoming Scheduled Minutes only when dated on or after the As of Date. Sessions marked Canceled contribute no completed or projected minutes.
The workbook calculates Gross Minutes from the entered start and end times, then subtracts Break Minutes and Excluded Minutes. The resulting Net Instructional Minutes cannot be less than zero.
Courses at Risk is the combined count of active courses with Near Target or Shortfall status. Near Target means the projected gap is within the applicable warning margin, while Shortfall means the projected gap exceeds that margin.
The Course Setup and Dashboard tables contain 100 prepared course rows, and the Session Log contains 500 prepared session rows. The workbook also includes populated sample course and session records for illustration; these samples occupy some of the prepared rows.
An active course receives Data Issue status when its Course Setup row contains a setup alert or one or more linked Session Log rows contain a session alert. The workbook can flag issues such as duplicate identifiers, missing required values, unmatched Course IDs, invalid date or time relationships, and session dates that conflict with the As of Date. Users should review the displayed alerts before relying on the course result.
