Track Application Deadlines and Follow-Ups
The workbook calculates an Application Deadline from the selected term and program when that combination is available on the Lists sheet. Deadline alerts distinguish submitted applications from records with open, due-soon, past-due, or missing deadlines. Follow-up alerts use the application status, Next Follow-Up Date, and Dashboard Reporting Date to identify closed, missing, overdue, due-soon, or scheduled follow-ups. The due-soon period is seven days for follow-ups and 14 days for unsubmitted application deadlines.
Review Admissions Metrics on the Dashboard
The formula-driven Dashboard summarizes total and active applications, incomplete files, applications under review, released decisions, admits, deposits received, overdue follow-ups, approaching deadlines, past-due unsubmitted records, average checklist completion, and data-quality issues. Active Applications excludes records marked Decision Released or Withdrawn. Two charts visualize applications by status and by source, while review queue counts direct users to records that may need action.

Standardize Entries and Check Data Quality
The Lists sheet supplies controlled options for entry terms, programs, application types, sources, recruiters, application statuses, decisions, and deposit statuses. Validation also limits identifiers, names, dates, checklist counts, and note lengths. The calculated Data Quality Alert can flag duplicate application IDs, completed checklist counts that exceed required counts, invalid date relationships, and certain status or decision conflicts. These alerts support review but do not replace verification by the workbook user.
Common questions
About this template
The Applications sheet contains 200 prepared operational rows, covering rows 8 through 207. Populated sample records occupy some of those rows and should be replaced with fictional or approved internal operational records.
Yes. The Application Deadline column looks up a deadline from the Lists sheet using the selected Entry Term and Program. A matching term-and-program combination must exist in the deadline lookup for a date to be returned.
For an active application, a Next Follow-Up Date earlier than the Dashboard Reporting Date is marked Overdue. A follow-up date within seven days of the Reporting Date is marked Due Soon. An active record without a Next Follow-Up Date is marked Missing, while Decision Released and Withdrawn records are marked Closed.
Yes. The Lists sheet contains the values used for Entry Terms, Programs, Application Types, Sources, Recruiters, Application Statuses, Decisions, and Deposit Statuses. It also contains the Entry Term, Program, and Application Deadline combinations used by the deadline lookup.
The calculated Data Quality Alert checks for issues including duplicate Application IDs, completed checklist counts greater than required counts, certain inconsistent date sequences, and certain conflicts involving application status or decision values. Users should review the source fields for every flagged record.
Use fictional or approved internal display names and short operational notes. Do not enter birth dates, government identifiers, medical information, financial information, passwords, or other sensitive personal information.
